QuarkXPress 7 has some great new powerful features that exisitng users of old versions may not know. Use Level 1 DVD to update your skills and use as a reference guide. Level 2 DVD is for those who already know the basics of QuarkXPress but want to get their knowledge up to the next level. You will be shown some really great ways to save time and how to create professional looking documents. Interactive Designer DVD will enable Quark professionals to leverage their skills to create rich, interactive content such as interactive tours, online ads, and design-driven presentations within QuarkXPress.

Level 1 - Modules 1-6
1 - The Workspace - Get to know your workspace, toolbars and pallettes. You will learn how to arrange them too.
2 - Navigating around your document - Learn how to set up your document to allow you to navigate around easily. Particularly useful for long documents.
3 - Creating and editing boxes - Learn how to add, edit and delete text and graphics. Add borders, columns and colour.
4 - Importing text and graphics - Import text and graphics and correctly position them on your page. This module covers different file types.
5 - Laying out text and graphics - You will learn about setting up columns and getting the text to flow through the document and runaround your pictures.
6 - Formatting text - We show you how to format properly. Includes Paragraph attributes, Tracking and Kerning.


Level 1 - Modules 7-12
7 - Introduction to typography - You will learn how to format characters and paragraphs correctly, selecting fonts and styles.
8 - Style Sheets - Learn how to create style sheets, edit and apply them. Useful if working on long documents or you have a company style.
9 - Working with colour - You will be shown how to create new colours, edit them and apply them to text, picture boxes and frames.
10 - Document structure and Master pages - Setting up your document, facing pages, how to create and apply master pages plus automatic page numbering.
11 - Preparation for output - You will be shown how to make sure that all of your documents are prepared correctly for high resolution print.
12 - Collect for output and pdfs - How to make sure that what you see on your screen actually gets printed: what export formats and settings to use.


Level 2 - Modules 1-6
1 - The Baseline grid - Learn how to align type and images across multiple columns and pages for professional looking results.
2 - Book files - Create separate documents for each chapter, then use a book file to synchronise style sheets and page numbering.
3 - Composition zone - Learn about the composition zones feature which allows several people to collaborate on the same document.
4 - Find and change - Explore Find/change to make changes across your document and remove problem elements like unwanted paragraph returns.
5 - Glyphs - Learn how to insert special characters and symbols, use Open Type format and find out just what your fonts can do.
6 - H and Js - Hyphenation and Justification, we take you through the options to help you make full use of this copy fitting tool.


Level 2 - Modules 7-12
7 - Creating multiple versions - In this tutorial we look at what options are available and how to use them for rapid document creation and editing.
8 - Table of contents - In this tutorial we show you how to create tables of contents and indexes automatically.
9 - Proof output - Use on screen proofs to give you an accurate picture of how your job will appear when it comes of the printing press.
10 - PSD import - This tutorial covers the PSD import palette helping you to adapt Photoshop artwork directly in Quark.
11 - Tables - This tutorial covers creating and editing tables, link tables to external Excel documents and style them.
12 - Outputting images - Make sure your images are printed correctly. It is all to do with the correct file types and sizes.


Level 2 - Modules 13-14
13 - Transparency - Learn how to apply different opacities to items and how to work with transparency from other imported files.
14 - Picture effects - Vista lets you apply effects and filters to images non-destructively, directly on your page in Quark.


Interactive Designer - Modules 1-6
1 - Introduction - We show you the navigation, preferences and some great shortcuts. It is also an introduction to scripts and actions.
2 - Using pages as slides - Create an interactive slideshow and transition. Add user events, animating banner adverts plus adding scripts.
3 - Building scripts - Learn how to build Quark interactive scripts and test them. Animate your pages, add events, transitions and time actions.
4 - Adding a rollover button - Create rollover buttons using Object types. Add graphics and actions to buttons and then preview through Flash.
5 - Sequence animations - Create new sequences, animations and add frames to create a smooth flowing animation.
6 - Path animation - Use your Bezier line tool to set up a sequence and control animation movement. Set the timings and trigger scripts.


Interactive Designer - Modules 7-12
7 - Adding audio - Use this module to learn how to add sound to your project and add background music when your animation is playing.
8 - Adding video - Add video and sound files to your project, see how to loop, pause and add actions to trigger the event action.
9 - Building complex scripts - In this module you will be shown how to use Control and If statements to build up complex scripts.
10 - Using layers - This module shows you all of the layer options available. Create new layers, edit them and create some great effects.
11 - Using windows - Learn how to use the Modal and non-Modal windows. Excellent for adding copyright notices or other warnings.
12 - Loading external SWF files - Learn how to add external files, add links and control them. See how to add sound and controls as well.


Interactive Designer - Modules 13-14
13 - Loading external text and images - We show you how to create text and picture containers and add scripts to trigger external actions including URLs.
14 - Outputting your files - Make sure your file sizes are correct, learn about compression settings and Projector files.
