Level 1 DVD is aimed to get you started with using Final Cut Pro. After going through the bite-size modules you will be able to start confidently using Final Cut Pro and also be able to use the DVD as a reference guide. Level 2 DVD is for those who already know the basics of Final Cut Pro but want to get their knowledge up to the next level. You will be shown some really great ways to save time and how to create professional looking videos. Level 3 DVD is for those who already know the basics of Final Cut Pro but want to get their knowledge up to the next level. You will be shown some really great ways to save time and how to create professional looking pictures.

Level 1 - Modules 1-6
1 - The Interface, Windows and Workspaces - Set up your project correctly, learn about the different windows and customising your views to suit you.
2 - Preferences Projects and Sequences - Learn about the Preferences and set them up correctly. Also how to set up new projects and multiple sequences.
3 - The Browser and importing media - This module deals with many of the different ways to import and organise your media into your browser.
4 - Capturing video and custom capture presets - How to set up your project for consistency when importing your media and make sure your video is captured correctly.
5 - Logging media and batch capture - You will learn how to set up your project correctly and be shown round the controls in the Log and Capture window.
6 - Creating and organising subclips - This is a very useful module for creating, editing and saving subclips without affecting your original footage.


Level 1 - Modules 7-12
7 - Batch export - How to select your clips and ensure all of your export settings are correct then export into self-contained files.
8 - Organising bins and colour coding - Learn how to organise your clips using bins and colour coding. Essential when working with very large projects.
9 - Introduction to the Viewer - Focusing on getting your media in, the tabs and menu pop ups and customising the windows for a better view.
10 - The Viewer tabs - A look at the video, audio, filter and motion tabs in the Viewer and shortcuts to quickly navigate and mark your clips.
11 - Navigating through your Viewer - Use the Viewer for quickly navigating and marking the controls for ins, outs and keyframes for control of your clips.
12 - Adding clips to the timeline - Ways of adding clips to your timeline using the mouse, buttons and shortcuts plus how to place clips correctly.


Level 2 - Modules 1-6
1 - Managing audio in the timeline - Use the mute, solo, visibility, audibility and the padlock buttons to keep things in sync when moving clips around.
2 - Keyframe and track controls in the timeline - Use the keyframe and track controls to understand your edit and how they interact with the Viewer and sequence settings.
3 - Autoselect controls and moving clips around - Use the autoselect controls to move, duplicate and close gaps while editing with shortcuts takes you to the next level.
4 - Transitions - Different ways of applying transitions and how it affects the edits, also swapping and customising the transitions.
5 - Log and transfer - Capturing clips can take time so transferring in from P2 media is a great way of learning this new function.
6 - Auto conform - Auto switching sequence settings and making clips fit so you can carry on with the edit will avoid the need to render.


Level 2 - Modules 7-12
7 - Text - Learn about the text generators, using the built in text generator and editing to stay within title safe.
8 - Lower 3rd text generator - Learn about text and lower 3rd text, how to import with transitions and duplicate out customised lower 3rd.
9 - Scrolling text - Rolling credits are the same as scrolling text, learn about the controls and how to interact with the clip below it.
10 - Boris Title 3D - Learn about the features available in Boris 3D to give your text a different look from the built in text generators.
11 - Animate Boris Title 3D and Scrambler - Get your text animating around the screen with Boris 3D and Scrambler, one of the easiest ways to start animating text.
12 - Outline text - Create outline text and customise it with modes and TIFFs to enhance the look of the text.


Level 3 - Modules 1-6
1 - Introduction to Multiclip - Using multiclip to edit multicam footage is easy and fun if you set up Final Cut Pro correctly.
2 - Advanced Multiclip - Using multiclip within the editing process is quick and being able to switch back and forth to multiclip is a real timesaver.
3 - Ripple and roll edits - Being able to edit and fine tune your edits without leaving gaps is where the ripple and rolling tools start to become essential.
4 - Slip and slide tools - Often used after a multiclip edit to fine tune and tighten the cuts.
5 - Editing with shortcuts - Tools are great for editing but shortcuts are where the speed is and getting to grips with them at an early stage will help workflow a lot.
6 - Trim window - Learning to use the tim window makes tightening the edit a joy and using the shortcuts from the previous lesson means that there are 2 places to try them out.


Level 3 - Modules 7-12
7 - Filters - Applying filters is essential for sorting out some shots, using them to change the look is great and animating filters brings them all to life.
8 - Masks and mattes - Removing parts of shots can be done a few ways and we go through different types of mattes and masks to get the job done.
9 - Speed changes - Sometimes a shot just will not work at its normal speed and sometimes you want to make it look different.
10 - Time re-mapping - When speed changes just won't do the job you can bring out the big guns and time re-map clips to get the whole thing slowing down over time.
11 - Exporting - Get the edit out of Final Cut Pro and converted to other formats. We go through different ways to do this and have a look at the files produced.
12 - Print and edit to tape - If you need to get back to tape there a few ways to do it and we break down 2 of the most used methods and see what the difference is.
